When you are my friend

When you are my friend
I mean it when I say
lean on me,
like the song says,
and I will pray for you,
and I WILL pray for you.

When you are my friend,
when you are far,
when you are far hearted,
lean on me,
my strength is yours,
His strength is yours,
and we will lean
on Him together,
when you are my friend.

Apologetically a message came asking for help from someone I consider a best friend, a mentor even, someone I haven’t seen since last May. Yet, for best friends, our communication has consisted of Facebook pokes lately, which simply explained is a click of a mouse notice sent, and no actual words. For me, that is enough. I read the unspoken in the click. I know our lives are months apart, miles apart. No matter what, if I am able to help, make some magic, or pray with all my being, I’m here. No apology needed. Here I am, Here I am Lord.
