Worship with me: Overcome

Just finished my Bible reading and was reminded of an awesome Worship song by my BFF Bruce. He posted it on his Facebook. It’s his favorite and has been for a while. He first heard it at a conference he went to where he experienced it right to his very bones I think. I think he was overcome by the Spirit. Has that ever happened to you in Worship? Bruce happens to lead Worship from time to time taking a break from what he mostly does, and does this justice along with a swell praise team and some musicians at the Church where he works and Worships. Since we can’t have Bruce lead us, here, let’s Worship together with Desperation Band doing Overcome:

Overcome
Seated above, enthroned in the Father’s love
Destined to die, poured out for all mankind
God’s only son perfect and spotless one
He never sinned, but suffered as if he did

prechorus
All authority, every victo-ry is Yours
All authority, every victory is Yours

chorus
Savior, worthy of honor and glory,
worthy of all our praise, You overcame
Jesus, awesome in power forever,
awesome and great is Your name,
You overcame

verse:2
Power in hand speaking the Father’s plan
You’re sending us out, light in this broken land

bridge
We will overcome by the blood of the Lamb
and the word of our testimony, everyone overcome

Thank you Lord! Thank you for my Salvation! Amen

Notes from my Bible reading today, Genesis 18-20. In Chapter 18 Sarah finds out at her elder age she is going to have a child in the coming year. She is overcome. In Chapter 19 Sodom and Gomorrah are destroyed and Lot and his family must leave their home. They are overcome. In Chapter 20 a mistake was overcome with forgiveness.

We will overcome, by the blood of the Lamb,
And the word of our testimony, everyone overcome.
