My mom rocks

My little Mama (my sister and I call her this, we’re taller), rocks. That’s a fact. She’s the most active 80 something I know. She might be short but she’s speedy. Still exercising, still taking care of her own stuff and our dad, and still learning and growing. She reads insatiably, plays the piano, does water aerobics, math problems and word puzzles in the newspaper, and cooks heavenly and healthy meals.

And, she’s still the person I never want to disappoint.

I so wasn’t looking forward to sharing my latest news. But my mother dearest called today to offer sympathy, encouragement, and insight. She restored my heart a bit, and certainly propped me back upright. She rocked me in her arms from afar. And as I should have known, she has been my best comfort so far. Yup, my Mom rocks!
The picture above was taken in Chicago with my sisters, neice, my daughter, and my Mom (far left) coming together to have a weekend together from Wisconsin, Kentucky, and UK earlier this year.
